Banana
Description:Banana (Musa spp.)
Bananas are probably the most potassium demanding crop under cultivation. It has been estimated that a 50 t per ha crop of bananas would have to absorb as much as 1960 kg K2O (von Uexkull, H.R. and Bosshart, R.P. 1986)
Visual symptoms: When K is deficient, leaves become smaller and are slower to appear. This is followed by a rapid yellowing, starting from the tip of older leaves. The yellow leaves dry up quickly and the leaf tip curls inward. Later the dead leaf breaks near the bottom of the lamina.
