NEW PUBLICATION FROM IPNI - 4R PLANT NUTRITION MANUAL (NORTH AMERICAN VERSION) NOW AVAILABLE

March 8, 2012 – Norcross, Georgia, USA – The International Plant Nutrition Institute (IPNI) has just released its newest publication in support of 4R Nutrient Stewardship titled 4R Plant Nutrition: A Manual for Improving the Management of Plant Nutrition. The manual was released during the 2012 Great Plains Soil Fertility Conference and Nutrient Stewardship Summit both held in Denver, Colorado this March 5 to 7.

“4R Nutrient Stewardship is a new innovative approach for fertilizer best management practices adopted by the world’s fertilizer industry,” explains IPNI President, Dr. Terry L. Roberts. “This approach considers economic, social, and environmental dimensions of nutrient management and is essential to sustainability of agricultural systems. The concept is simple—apply the right source of nutrient, at the right rate, at the right time, and in the right place—but the implementation is knowledge-intensive and site-specific. We hope this manual will be a useful tool for farmers and their advisers, extension workers, researchers, regulators, and anyone with an interest in the management of plant nutrition.”

The 4R Plant Nutrition Manual contains over 130 pages in full color (8½ x 11 in.) and is filled with color illustrations, learning modules, and case studies. The manual’s initial print release is designed for a North American setting with US/Imperial units (Item# 50-5500) for USD 45.
