2011 North Central Extension-Industry Soil Fertility Conference

41st Annual
North Central Extension-Industry
Soil Fertility Conference

November 16-17, 2011

Holiday Inn Airport, Des Moines, IA

We would like to invite you to attend the 2011 North Central Extension-Industry Soil Fertility Conference. As many of you are aware, this has for years been a high-quality, informative meeting. Another excellent program has been planned for 2011 featuring invited talks by industry and university presenters. Invited speakers include Jerry Hatfield, Fred Below, Harold von Es, Jay Goos, Jim Camberato, Fabian Fernendez and Peter Scharf.

The program starts at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 16th, and ends at noon Thursday (17th). Sixteen institutions in the North Central region (Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Ontario, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, and Wisconsin) are involved in this conference. Presenters will be reporting orally and in poster sessions about on-going research. Plenty of time is allocated within the meeting to visit one-on-one with authors, presenters and other attendees.

The poster session is an opportunity for companies accomplishing unique and innovative activities to present them. Too often industry innovations are not seen by researchers and Extension specialists until the practices become commonplace. We encourage industry participation in the poster sessions. Please contact Phyllis if you have a poster of interest.

We anticipate that the Conference will be approved for Certified Crop Adviser credits. Six CEU credits were approved for the 2010 conference.

Recognition will be given to the outstanding graduate students in soil fertility during the Wednesday evening banquet. You will be given an opportunity to hear them tell a little about themselves, their research, and their future plans. Again this year there will be a Student Poster Award given to the top two students who attend and present a poster.
