I. Name of the Project : Evaluating Production Systems Approaching Attainable Yields and Profits.

On - station experiments in 2 series as per details given below can fulfill the objectives of this research project.

SERIES 1 : Starting from Kharif 2007

Main Plot : Kharif Crops = 6 (Hybrid rice, Maize, Pigeonpea, Groundnut, Sesamum, Fodder Sorghum - multicut)

Subplots : Fertilizer treatments = 5

1. Farmers' fertilizer practice (FFP)
2. State fertilizer recommendation (SR}
3. Improved SR ( N and P 25% higher than SR and K should be 50% higher than the P dose of treatment 3) (Improved SR to be designated as ISR hereafter)
4. State soil testing lab. recommendation
5.Site specific nutrient management (SSNM) (Taking care all deficient nutrients and satisfying nutrient needs for attainable yield )

Design: Split - plot design
Replications; 4
Plot size : 50 sq.m.

NB: During rabi wheat will be taken regardless of preceding crops on the same lay out and fertilizer treatments for wheat will be applied.


SERIES 2: Starting from Rabi 2007-08

Main Plot : Crops = 6 (Wheat, Chickpea, Mustard, Potato, Garlic, Berseem)

Subplots : Fertilizer treatments = 5

1. Farmers' fertilizer practice (FFP)
2. State fertilizer recommendation (SR}
3. Improved SR ( N and P 25% higher than SR and K should be 50% higher than the P dose of treatment 3) (Improved SR to be designated as ISR hereafter)
4. State soil testing lab. recommendation
5.Site specific nutrient management (SSNM) (Taking care all deficient nutrients and satisfying nutrient needs for attainable yield )
