This is a new project initiated in 1996 to evaluate the benefits of K fertilization on the yield and quality of pistachio trees growing in three orchards in the Central Valley of California. Potassium fertilization significantly increased nut yield in the Madera orchard which tested lowest in available soil K and tended to increase in the other two.
