Evaluation of six low-chill requirement peach varieties to low and high potassium nutrition, 1996
In the highlands of Colombia, strong interest has developed for the introduction of new fruit varieties that can replace low yielding varieties with poor fruit quality characteristics. Previous trials have demonstrated that this type of crop provides a good opportunity to diversify production and increase income. In order to compete with imported fruit, the market requires a product with excellent presentation and good post harvest resistance. A study was developed to evaluate fruit yield and quality of six new frost tolerant peach varieties at two rates of applied K. Potassium's contribution to the enhancement of fruit quality and crop maturity has been well established. Yield data for this study will be available by the end of 1997. COLOMBIA-04
