The SEA AgriStats reports show key data relating to crop production and nutrient use in the most important fertilized agricultural crops grown in Southeast Asia.

    Categories of crops

    Crops are categorized into

      • Cash crops (sugarcane, tobacco)
      • Cereals (maize, rice)
      • Food legumes (beans, cowpea, groundnut, soybean)
      • Fruits (banana, durian, pineapple, various)
      • Root crops (cassava, potato, sweet potato)
      • Spices (pepper, chilli)
      • Tree crops (cloves, cocoa, coconut, coffee, oil palm, rubber, tea)
      • Vegetables (various)
    Data sources

For crop area and crop production, data are obtained from the FAO agricultural statistics(www.fao.org).

For nutrient consumption, data are based on our estimates for the minimal N, P, and K requirements to sustain present yields.

    Reports

Reports are available on area, production, yield, market potential for N, P, and K fertilizer nutrients. These can be sorted either by country or crop to provide data for the eight agricultural economies of Southeast Asia.

    Important note on tree crops

Not attempt has been made to distinguish between mature, yielding areas and newly planted areas not yet in production. The yield data for tree crops must therefore be viewed with caution.
